Marlene M. (Finkle), 73, of Clifton, passed away on August 26, 2014. Born in Paterson, she was a lifelong resident of Clifton. Before retiring in 2008, Marlene was a Secretary for the Clifton board of Education for 34 years at several Clifton Elementary Schools, including School # 11 and School # 4. Active in local politics, Marlene the granddaughter of the first appointed Clifton Mayor, Clarence W. Finkle, was Past President of the Clifton Board of Health, has served as President of Hamilton House Museum for 14 years, and was Past President of the School # 9 PTA. Marlene and Mr. Edward Plaskon were the founders of the Clifton Ice Hockey Booster Club. Beloved wife for 56 years of John Richard "Woody" Walcott. Devoted mother of Debra Kobylarz and her husband Albert of Clifton, and John and his wife Kathleen of the Township of Washington. Loving grandmother of Michael, Christopher, Alexis and Colleen. Cherished sister of Joyce Muscara of Clifton. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Funeral Saturday 10:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
