PURWIN
Walter J., 95, of Pequannock, passed away on August 29, 2014.
The son of the late Walter and Sophia Purvinska, Walter proudly served in the US Army Air Corps. during World War II, achieving the rank of Corporal. He had a long career with PPG Industries in Union as well as Muller Brothers in Paterson.
Walter is survived by his son, Joseph Purwin and his wife Susan; his sisters, Helen Jablonski and Sophia Amoroso; and his granddaughters, Courtney and Stephanie Leach. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian; his brothers, Frank and Joseph; and his sisters, Violet and Charlotte.
Visiting hours will be held from 11-1 PM Wednesday, September 3 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 1 PM. Interment of Walter's ashes will follow at First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains. www.scanlanfuneral.com
