COHANRichard J. Esq., died on Saturday, November 14, 2009. He was 65. Born in Tuzson, Arizona and living his early years in the Bronx, NY until his family ultimately moved to Palisades Park, NJ. Mr. Cohan graduated from St. Peter's Prep., Jersey City, NJ, Providence College and Fordham Law School after which he obtain his Masters in Tax Law from NYU. He was a member of the NY & NJ Bars. Mr. Cohan served in the United States Army as a Judge Advocate General Corps., during the Vietnam War. Richard worked in the Bingham, Engler, Jones & Houston Law Firm, NY specializing in Maritime Law. He later worked in New City, NY at the Law Firm of James Feeney, Esq., and finally opened his own practice in West Orange, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Denise (nee Bostick). He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer, Katherine, Mary, Meghan, Rachel and Elizabeth Cohan and one son, Richard J. Cohan, Jr. Also surviving are his father, Ben Cohan and his brothers, Honorable Robert J. Cohan and Rev. Dennis Cohan. He is also predeceased by his mother, Virginia Steen Cohan and brother, Kevin Cohan. An avid sports fan with special allegiance to the NY Football Giants and the University of Texas Longhorns. His favorite greeting was "Hook'em Horns".The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in West Orange, NJ on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 11 AM. Interment to follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. The Family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, 311 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, NJ.
