De BEL Alice L. (Vroeginday) Dob, 84 of Clifton died Sunday, May 23, 2010. Born in Clifton, she resided in Passaic before returning to Clifton 45 years ago. A graduate of CHS, Alice was employed as a secretary at the Netherlands Reformed Christian School in Pequannock prior to her retirement in 1988 and remained a volunteer at the school's library. She is a member of the Clifton Congregation of the Netherlands Reformed Church. Alice is predeceased by her first husband, Matthew Dob, by a sister, Margaret Hromada, and by four brothers, Peter, Crine and Robert Vroeginday and Adrian Vroegindewey. She is survived by her second husband, Elias De Bel, by two sons, Allan Dob and wife, Carol; Kenneth Dob and wife, Marlene; by two daughters, Janet Dob, Carolyn Van Grouw and husband, Paul, by twelve Dob grandchildren and seven Dob great grandchildren, also by four stepsons, Abe De Bel and wife, Lois; John De Bel and wife, Carol; Jake De Bel and wife, Nancy; Rick De Bel and wife, Ellen, by two stepdaughters, Martina Newton, Jackie Mol and husband Bill, by thirty De Bel grandchildren and twenty-five De Bel great-grand-children. Alice is also survived by a brother, Herb Vroeginday, and three sisters, Gertrude Oostdyke, Jeanette Sasiela and Cornelia Iorio. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday at Allwood Funeral Home. 660-670 Allwood Road, Clifton followed by burial at Cresthaven Memorial Park. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
