Walter Stapp Obituary

STAPP Walter J., age 83 years of Midland Park on Friday January 7, 2011. Beloved husband of 62 years of Elizabeth (nee: Suenram) Stapp, loving father of Donald Stapp and his wife Barbara of Bradley Beach, Barbara Wurster and her husband Richard of Fallston, MD, Linda Stapp and her husband Richard of Wellesley, MA, Edward Stapp and his wife Patrice of Wyckoff, Eileen Gumienski and her husband Rob of Denville, Judy Larrondo and her husband Herb of Union Beach, Richard Stapp and his wife Diana of Eastford, CT, Joanne Miller and her husband Ed of Lawrenceville and Thomas Stapp and his wife Pamela of Wyckoff, loving grandfather of seventeen and great-grandfather of nine. Born in Paterson, Mr. Stapp lived in Wyckoff for many years before moving to Midland Park in 1987. Walter was employed as a truck driver for International Paper in Tallman, NY. He also was the owner of Suenram Hardware in Paterson and Ho-Ho-Kus Hardware in Ho-Ho-Kus. Mr. Stapp was most recently employed as a crossing guard in Wyckoff. He was a member of the Hawthorne Gospel Church and its Choir. Walter currently attended the Franklin Lakes Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM on Monday at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will be at the Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Hawthorne Christian Academy. (browningforshay.com)
