GEIGER Howard G., 87, of Toms River passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born on June 27, 1923 in New York City to Michael and Inez (Mac Donald) Geiger, he lived in Midland Park before moving to Toms River in 1988. Mr. Geiger was US Army veteran of World War II. He was a machinist for 40 years, working his final 20 years for Hayford Associates in Hawthorne, NJ, until his retirement in 1988. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 10185 in Toms River and the Holiday City Woodshop. Mr. Geiger was predeceased by his wife, Joan in 2004 and is survived by his seven children; Thomas Geiger of Union, Howard Geiger of Howell, Joanne Meyer of Oak Ridge, Michael Geiger of Glen Rock, Patricia Tkach of Holmdel, Timothy Geiger of Macedonia, OH and Mary Ellen Geiger of Manchester. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 18th from 5-9 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church in Toms River. Interment to follow in New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown.
