MIKITA John, longtime resident of Clifton, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011. He was 88. Born in Youngstown, OH he was the son of John and Anna Mikita. John proudly served in the Marines Corps during the WWII Pacific Theatre. He was a volunteer for the Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service for over 20 years and was a member of the West Hudson Marine Corps League Detachment 209. John was an active member and past trustee of St. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Passaic. He is survived by his daughters, Janice Dudzak and her husband David and Andrea Burns and her husband Byron; his grandchildren, David and his wife Izabela, Michael and his fiancee Deborah Koch, Lauren Dudzak, and Nicole Burns. He was predeceased by his wife, Anne. A funeral service will be held 9:30 AM on Friday, March 25 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. Burial will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
