PERIDES Maria (nee Koutris), on April 29, 2011 of Cliffside Park, NJ, age 84. She was born in Rhodes, Greece and emigrated to the United States in 1969 in search of a better life for her family. She worked as a seamstress and later devoted her life helping her children at their restaurants. She was a member and a dedicated parishioner at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Ascension in Fairview, NJ. She was a source of inspiration to all those who knew her and the rock of strength and courage to her family. Beloved wife of her late husband Tsampicos, she is survived by her three children Theodoros Perides and his wife Anita, Dimitrios Perides and his wife Dorothy, her daughter Eleni Stavrou and her husband George, seven grandchildren, Tsampicos and his wife Athena, Maria and her husband Kentheas, Dimitrios and his wife Panagiota, Theodoros and his wife Demetra, Savvas, Tsampicos and his future wife Eleni and Christina and Stephen. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren George, Theodoros, Evangelos, Lukas, Vasilios, Theodoros, Zacharias and Alexandros. She is also survived by her beloved sister Faye Vlachos, her husband Thomas, and her children Dr. Theodoros Vlachos his wife Filitsa and their son Michael, Karen and Stephen, his wife Evy and their children Thomas and Karina as well as her beloved sister-in-law Maria Koutris and her children Fotios, wife Stamatia and their son Vasilios, beloved nephew Dimitrios and beloved nephew Manolis and his wife Lucy as well as many nephews and nieces in Greece. While she was alive she also considered others as her children, none more so than Anastasios Kallopoulos his wife Theano and their children Parthena and Thomas as well as Vasilios Mastrocostas his wife Katerina and their son Dimitrios. The family will receive their friends at A.K. Macagna Funeral Home 495 Anderson Avenue Cliffside Park NJ on Sunday, May 1, 2011 between the hours of 2 PM and 8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to be made in her memory to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Ascension. Funeral services will be at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Ascension in Fairview May 2, 2011 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
