Sr. Grace Margaret Haggart, O.P. died on Jan. 16 at the St. Catherine Healthcare Center in Caldwell. She was 83.

Born in Jersey City, she entered the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell on Aug. 30, 1948 and professed her vows on April 22, 1950.

She had a Bachelors Degree in Social Studies from Caldwell College and became an elementary school teacher for many schools including: St. Ann School in Newark; Blessed Sacrament School in Bridgeport, Conn.; St. Mary School in Rahway; St. Teresa School in Kenilworth; Our Lady of the Lake School in Verona; St. Joseph School in West Orange; St. Aloysius School in Caldwell; St. John School in Jersey City and St. Elizabeth School in Linden. She also served as Principal at St. John School in Jersey City from 1989 to 1995.

She is survived by her brothers Daniel E. Haggart and James R. Haggart.

Visitation will take place today from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Catherine Convent in Caldwell and a funeral mass will be offered in St. Catherine of Siena Convent Chapel, located at 7 Ryerson Ave. (Mt. St. Dominic) Caldwell on Jan. 20 at 10 a.m.
