Paul Scalera Obituary

SCALERA
Paul Ross, 43, of West Milford died Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012. He has been a resident of West Milford for the past 7 years. After graduating from Boonton high school in 1987, he studied music and audio engineering in NY. Early in his career he enjoyed working as an audio engineer in California, but in more recent years he worked with Dan Ericksen, of "On Location Productions" in northern New Jersey. Paul's main passions were writing and performing his original music, spending time with his close friends and family, and traveling. Everyone who knew him knows how much he always loved a good road trip. Paul is survived by his girlfriend of 21 years, Sandra Shaffer, his mother, Kathleen Scalera, his sister in law, Elizabeth Scalera, his niece Rachel, and nephew Michael, of Encino, CA. He also leaves behind many family members, close friends, and his beloved cats, Dolby and Ripley. He is predeceased by his father, Ronald D. Scalera and by his brother, Ronald P. Scalera. Private Funeral services were held under the direction of Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton. In lieu of flowers his family asks that donations please be made to "The Lustgarten Foundation" for Pancreatic research, the American Heart Association, or to your local animal shelter, as he was an animal lover. www.allwoodfuneralhome.com

Kathy, sorry for your loss. I absolutely enjoyed Paul as he visited me back in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, with Jim Jamison (97 or 98). He was very talented, creative and an intelligent individual in his career. I know we never met, but he talked about you always and adored you. God bless you and I know the memories will warm you heart. -Jackie Madsen
