KINNELON — Services will be held for John Jay Boylan Jr., 70, of this community and Point Pleasant Beach, who died on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Mr. Boylan lived in Kinnelon for many years while summering at the Boylan Beach House in Point Pleasant Beach.
Mr. Boylan achieved his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame, followed by a Master of Science, Architectural Technology, from Columbia University and his Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University.
He was a veteran, serving as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and was passionate about his work as an architect and real-estate developer.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head. Arrangements are by the Colonial Funeral Home of Brick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of New Jersey, John Boylan Memorial Fund, 400 Broadacres Drive, First Floor, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
Mr. Boylan is survived by his wife, the former Dianne Bates; daughters, Bonnie Bunker of Colorado, Elizabeth Isham of Florida, and Brittany Boylan of Colorado and New Jersey; his sister, Belle Constantin of Germany; his niece, Janine Berker of Germany; his nephews; and four grandchildren.
