Jerry A. Faber Jr. Obituary

Jerry A. Jr., age 88, of Hawthorne, on Sunday, November 4, 2012, with his wife at his bedside. Born in Hawthorne, Jerry was a life-long resident and owner of Faber Plumbing & Heating Co. He leaves his beloved and devoted wife of 28 years, Mary (Menger) Faber, a devotion they shared every day of their lives.
Jerry loved boats and raced them. He and his wife, Mary, enjoyed their boat the Jer-Mar II with their families and friends. Dancing was another one of their favorite pastimes.
Jerry served in World War II as a Flight Officer in the Army Air Corps.
Upon retiring, Mary and Jerry split their time between their home in Shore Acres, Brick, NJ, and Delray Beach in Florida.
Jerry is survived by three beloved daughters: Debra Faber of Woodland Park, Sandra Faber of Lake Hopatcong, Elsa Stonebridge and her husband Bruce of Totowa, and predeceased by his beloved daughter, Bonnie Faber, in January 2012, his brother, Roger Faber of Jupiter, FL, and his stepson, Charles E. Wean, III.
He is also survived by his 10 dear grandchildren: Tina Targia and her husband Dominick, Dawn Lo Piccolo and her husband Dominick, Victoria Stonebridge, Stephen Stonebridge, Melissa Roe-Torres and her husband Manuel, Amanda Mineo and her husband Anthony, Martin Roe and his wife Erin, Charles Henion, Jr., Jeffrey Wean and his wife Kimberly, and Christopher Wean and his wife Vickie. Jerry also leaves 12 great-grandchildren, and his niece, Sharon Faber of Towaco.
Jerry was Past Commander of the Saddle River Power Squadron, Past President of Hawthorne Rotary Club, member of Wayne Elks Lodge 2181, Ridgewood Hobbyists, 60th Reunion Committee of Hawthorne Grammar School and NJ Master Plumbers.
Funeral service 11:30 AM Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne, NJ. Interment to follow in Valleau Cemetery, Ridgewood. Visitation at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hawthorne Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 200, Hawthorne, NJ 07507; or Hawthorne PBA Local 200, P.O. Box 123, Hawthorne, NJ 07507.
