MARRONE
Lawrence T., of River Vale, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Valley Hospital. He was 88 and a resident of the area for 50 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mildred Barbarita Marrone, his daughter, Frances Marrone of Everett, MA, his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Diane Marrone and his two grandsons, Gregory and Ryan Marrone of Highland Mills, NY, his sisters-in-law, Rose Giampietro and Gloria Galati and loving nieces and nephews.
He served in the US Army as a Sergeant during World War II and was a graduate of New York University. He spent his career as an Advertising Manager and Marketing Director for Ciba Geigy, Airwick Industries and Marcal Paper Mills. He was an avid golfer, painter, bowler and author of the book "A Bag of Snakes." Was a member of the Friends of River Vale Library and a tutor in their English as a second language program. He also volunteered at St. Andrew's Church in Westwood, NJ.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 PM on Sunday, November 18, at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ with a funeral mass on Monday November 19, at 10:30 AM at Church of St. Andrew in Westwood, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the , 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
