Ronald Michael, was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 17, 1936 and passed away on January 24, 2013. He was loved by his seven children and seventeen grandchildren who affectionately knew him as Poppy. He and his beloved wife Claire were married for 52 years. Whenever he was asked what his greatest accomplishment was, Ron responded it was his family. Ron served in the Army and he graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in 1958. He was an entrepreneur in both insurance and real estate and was actively involved in developing the town of Pompton Lakes. Ron was awarded the Pompton Lakes Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year Award in March 1987. He was also on the Board of Wayne Savings Bank. Ron enjoyed spending his winters in Hawaii and his summers at his home on Long Beach Island. He and Claire traveled the world together and loved sailing. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is just a horizon
and horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight. Memorial Service will be Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 1 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 400 Ramapo Ave., Pompton Lakes, NJ 07442. Arrangements entrusted to the Richards Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Riverdale, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christ Episcopal Church would be appreciated.
