Ara Babigian Obituary
Ara (Ira), 84, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at his home in Upper Saddle River. He was surrounded by his family including his two sons, Peter and Daniel, his daughter in law Lily, son-in-law Fernando, as well as his grandchildren, Marina, Armand and Ara. He is survived by his two brothers, John and Dick Babigian.
He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and lived in Maine and Connecticut before starting a family with his late wife, Marion, in Cresskill, New Jersey. Ara was a Yale graduate and spent 42 years as a manger of Woolworth's Department Store. He maintained a strong allegiance to the Red Sox and Patriots despite spending half his life living in Yankee and Giant's territory. Ara was an active member of the Armenian Church. He enjoyed playing tennis and was an active member of several local racket clubs. He was veteran of the US Army.
A memorial service will be held at St. Leon Armenian Church in Fair Lawn, on Wednesday February 6th at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Armenian Home in Emerson New Jersey.

My late husband, Haig and I enjoyed the New Years together with your dear parents, and Albert & Alin, precious memories that live on in our hearts & photos! We all enjoyed many delicious brunches your dear mother, Marion cooked and introduced us to so many delights!
