DELANEY
James M., 84, died on February 5, 2013 after a long battle with complications from a stroke. Mr. Delaney passed away peacefully at his son Jim and his wife Linda's home in Madison, Mississippi.
Born in Roscommon, Ireland, Mr. Delaney lived in River Vale, New Jersey for 57 years before moving to Madison in 2010.
Mr. Delaney worked for Packards, Finast and Shop Rite Inc. as a butcher for over 40 years before his retirement.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951-1953.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean who died in 2010. James and Jean were married for 59 years. Mr. Delaney was also preceded in death by his siblings Gabriel, Colm, Bernadette and William. He is survived by his six children- John (Kari), James (Linda), Jerome (Robin), Joseph (Debbie), Jean Ann (Teddy), Jeffrey(Michelle) as well as 21 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Noreen.
Funeral Liturgy at Church of St. Andrew, Westwood, NJ on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 10 AM. James will be buried with his wife Jean at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ. The family will receive their friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
