WEST MILFORD — Services were held for William Merz Brickman, 72, of this township, who died on Sunday, March 31, 2013.
Mr. Brickman was a lifelong resident of this township. He was a banker for more than 40 years, starting at Alexander Hamilton Savings & Loan and retiring as president of South Bergen Savings in 2000. Also, he was active in many banking organizations. He was a member of the Macopin Volunteer Fire Company for many years and a member of the West Milford Elks. He was a member of the Lindy's Lake softball team and a coach for the West Milford Girls Softball League. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, where he was an usher for many years. And, he was a reservist with the United States National Guard.
Services were Wednesday at St. Joseph's R.C. Church. Arrangements were by the Richards Funeral Home, West Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Macopin Volunteer Fire Company or to the West Milford First Aid Squad.
Mr. Brickman is survived by his wife, the former Joyce Ann Vacca; his daughters, Kimberle DeMona and Jill Freeland; and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, P. Charles and Dolores; and his brothers, Peter and Jack.
