Albert E., 91, formerly of Clifton died peacefully on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Masonic Home in Burlington, NJ. Born in Passaic, Al resided most of his life in Clifton before moving to Toms River in 1993 and then to Burlington in 2003. A graduate of CHS, Al is a US Army Veteran of WWII who served in Europe. He was employed as the Purchasing Agent at De Graff Dairy in Clifton for 18 years prior to his retirement in 1983. Previously, he was the Purchasing Agent for Lotz Dairy in Clifton and Franklin Lakes. Al is a 65 years member and Past Master of Lessing- Passaic Masonic Lodge #67 in Rutherford. He is a member, former Elder and Deacon of the United Reformed Church of Clifton. Al is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Steele), by four daughters, Linda Burgess of Arroyo Grande, CA, Donna Barthold of Wilmington, NC. Laurie Kastelberg of Richmond, VA and Elizabeth Williams, of Gainesville, VA, by nine grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday at the United Reformed Church, 352 Clifton Ave. Clifton followed by burial at East Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Rd., Clifton, NJ 07012 with Masonic Services at 7:30 PM. Memorial donations to Acacia Hospice, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016 will be appreciated.
