RIDGEWOOD — Paul B. Whelan, 79, recently died.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a retired security analyst for Deutsche Bank in New York. He was a graduate of St. John's University in New York City. He was past president of HILT and a member of several organizations including the Activities Club of Glen Rock, The Hobbyist of Ridgewood, the County Clare PB&S Association of NY and the US Submarine Veterans of NJ North Base. In addition, he was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a volunteer at Valley Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Down); his children, Patricia Whelan, Diane Piserchia and husband Gerry and Paul and wife Danielle Whelan; his grandchildren, Marc, Alex, Andrew, Jesse, Ana and Alex; his brother, George; and his sister, Amelia Shea.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4 at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home in Ridgewood. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ridgewood.
