Frank Scott Obituary

Frank S. III, 72, of Paramus, NJ, formerly of River Vale and Harrington Park, NJ, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013. Born in Hillsdale, NJ to Frank S. Jr. and Dorothy Scott. Frank served his country proudly in the US Army as an Artilleryman, from which he attained the rank of SP5, before going on to dedicating his life to public service. He was a retired sergeant with the Harrington Park Police Department as well as a former volunteer fireman with the River Vale, Montvale, and Harrington Park Fire Departments. He was an investigator for the State of New Jersey for many years, former Assistant Director of the Bergen County Police and Fire Academy and Executive Director of the New Jersey Regional Policing Institute. He served as an adjunct professor at Bergen Community College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Lincoln Technical Institute. Frank was a member of PBA Local 233 and 600, New Jersey Honor Legion and Commander of the American Legion Post 207. He was a former councilman and Emergency Management Deputy Coordinator for the Borough of Paramus. In addition he was the recipient of numerous law enforcement awards and commendations. Frank is predeceased by his wife Marilyn and brother Eugene Scott. He is survived by his sons Frank S. IV and his wife Audrey, and Bryan and his wife Ellen; grandchildren Frankie, Scianna, Abigail, and James; brother Leonard; his fiancée Susan; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, June 12 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. The family requests all gather at Becker Funeral Home Thursday morning June 13, at 10 AM to follow in procession to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 4 Woodland Road Montvale, NJ where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM.
