Arsenio Darvin Obituary

Arsenio L., Sr., 95, of Paramus, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Arsenio was a Staff Sargent in the United States Army who served in the Philippines during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 226 in Paramus and Post 2 in the Philippines. He was also a member of the United States Armed Forces of the Far East (USAFFE) 41st Division in the Philippines and a member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor. He was Vice Commander of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines and POW of World War II. Arsenio was a survivor of the Bataan Death March in April of 1942. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus.
Dear husband of the late Maria (nee Medina) (2003). Loving father of the late Isagani Darvin MD and his wife Josie, Deanna Darvin, Aida Hernandez and her husband Joe, Lucila Oula and her husband Seng, Arsenio Darvin, Jr. and his wife Daisy, Wenie Darvin and his wife Fatima and Norma Ortiona-Frani. Adored grandfather of Wawie and Pam Hernandez, Joy and Alvin Torres, Len Lesaca and her husband Jay, Charles Darvin, Kristine Darvin and Kevin Darvin. Adored great-grandfather of Russell and Nicole Hernandez, Alyssa Torres and Lyndsey, Jake and Jamison Lesaca.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 5-9 PM and Friday, July 26, 2013 from 4-10 PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Ave., Paramus. Funeral Service Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, Paramus. Entombment Garden of Memories, Washington Township.
