Stanton M. "Stash", 88, of Clifton died peacefully on
Tuesday, July 30, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in Kearny before moving to Clifton 60 years ago. A graduate of Rutgers Univ. with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Stan retired as Product Manager for Egan Machinery in Somerville in 1986. Previously, he was pre-sident of both Protective Coatings in Clifton and Wraps Inc. in East Orange. He is a US Marine Corps Veteran of WWII who served with the 1st Marine Division for 38 months in the South Pacific from Guadalcanal to Okinawa including Tinian, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Hawaii and New Hebrides. Stan is a Past President of the Clifton Board of Education, a founder of the Clifton/ Passaic Chapter of US TOO (a prostate cancer support group), a Trustee Emeritus of the Clifton Boys and Girls Club and a former member and Trustee of the Glen Ridge Country Club. He is a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church in Clifton and an emeritus member of Regina Mundi Council 3969 K of C. Stan is predeceased by his parents, Martin M. and Marion (Malinowski) Weiss, by a brother Leonard Weiss and by a sister, Dorothy Preece. His is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Loraine B., by two sons, Stanton M. Weiss Jr. and companion, Kevin Brown of NYC and Stephen Weiss of Jupiter, FL, by two grandsons, Justin Weiss and wife, Lisa and Taylor Weiss and by two sisters-in-law, Grace Marion of Hackensack and Fran Weiss of MA. Funeral service will be held 10AM Saturday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road., Clifton followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
