ALFANO
George, 94, of Wayne passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013.
Born and raised in Garfield, he lived primarily in Little Ferry before moving to Wayne. He served in the United States Navy as a Radioman teaching Morse Code to enlisted men during World War II. He owned MKM Machine Shop of Little Ferry for over 30 years. Mr. Alfano was an avid amateur Radio Operator with the call letters of W2NHZ. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his motor home and loved the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maine.
Mr. Alfano was the beloved husband of Gina (Jean) (nee Piscitelli) whom he married in 1957 and the father of Pamela Alfano of Readers, Pa., Matthew Alfano of Little Ferry, NJ, Gina Alfano-Pear and her husband, Rand of Wyckoff, NJ and the late Marjorie Campanelli and grandfather to six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one predeceased grandson. He was also predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be 9 AM Tuesday from Bizub-Parker Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Little Falls and 10 AM at Most Holy Name RC Church, 99 Marsellus Pl., Garfield. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Visit www.bizub.com for driving directions/ online condolences.
