MARCHESE
Deacon Stephen P., 86 of Lodi on October 22, 2013. Steve graduated Seton Hall University and Ithaca College where he studied Teaching and Speech Therapy. After completing his degrees he became an Elementary School Teacher in Washington School, Lodi. He was also a Speech Therapist at Lodi High School. Later on, Steve became Principal at Memorial School, and Superintendent of Schools, South Hackensack. He also served in the U.S. Army, was a Lodi Councilman for two terms, a member of the St. Michael's Knights of Columbus, a former Lodi Letter Carrier and served on the Lodi Redevelopment Agency. Steve also had a passion for acting, performing in community theaters, summer stock and off Broadway. He attended acting classes with actor Gavin McLeod at Ithaca. In 2000 he was ordained a Deacon of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Lodi. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Assunta. Beloved husband of the late Marcella "Ginger" (nee Laurentino). Devoted father of Vincent S. of Lodi, the late Stephen P., Jr. and Patrick J. Dear brother of Joseph, the late Pat, John, Vince and Ann Marie Marchese. Funeral Friday 8 AM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., Lodi, then to St. Joseph R.C. Church for a 9 AM Funeral Mass. Entombment St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
