John R., 92, of Wayne, NJ, passed on July 27, 2014.
Born in Eynon, PA, he moved to Lyndhurst, NJ after high school.
As a medic in the US Army Airborne in World War II in Europe, he saw combat in the Ardennes, Central Europe, and the Rhineland, where he earned a bronze star after crossing the Rhine and dropping behind enemy lines in a glider.

In the Packanack Lake community, he was active in the Friday night bowling league for many years. Always ready to start early, he would walk his dog on the peninsula before going to work every day, and in retirement would walk down Chestnut Drive every morning. Weekends at his bungalow at Normandy Beach, NJ, he would be surf fishing at the water's edge at sunrise.
He worked at Curtiss-Wright in Woodridge, NJ, and retired in 1982. His other hobbies were golf and horse racing and he continued to enjoy going to the track with his son John every week through June of this year.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edith, and is survived by his son, John A. Miglin.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM, August 11, 2014 in the chapel at the Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province-line Rd., Wrightstown, NJ.
