Gary VAN HOOK Obituary
Gary E., 61, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Born in Hackensack to the late Clarence and Dorothy Van Hook. Gary was the owner of Gary Van Hook Carpet in Hasbrouck Heights. Gary was a past president of the Little League and the Board of Education, a member of the Lions Club, the Euclid Masonic Lodge and was a former member of the Board of Health all in Hasbrouck Heights. He was also a member of the Bergen County Harley-Davidson Club. Gary is survived by his beloved ones; Maria Cannizzo and Diane R. Van Hook. Devoted father of Luke Van Hook, Kimberly Izzi, Katelyn Onorato, Kevin Joza and Marley Joza. Cherished father-in-law of Zachary Izzi and Chris Onorato. Dear brother of Thomas J. Van Hook. Proud and adored grandfather of Carter Izzi and Tenley Izzi. Son-in-law of Theresa Mancini. Also, he will be missed by his dog Charlie. Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday, October 1st. at 9 AM. Funeral Service from The First United Methodist Church Hasbrouck Heights at 10 AM. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Tuesday, (today) September 30th. from 5-9 PM. Memorial contributions to Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology 630 W. 168th. St., Room # PH 17-104, NY, NY 10032 would be appreciated.

I met Gary in 1996 as a result of a referral from a telephone operator when I was in route to NJ from Florida during the worst crisis of my life. Gary was amazing and we became forever friends.
Now that I have been in Pennsylvania for six years, I have been intending to contact Gary for all this time and, oddly, for the past three weeks, I have been feeling fearful about his health every day without any real reason and decided to search online before calling. I am so devastated to find my instincts validated.
I will remember Gary and his sons forever and I will always miss Gary and regret not having phoned him.
Without a doubt, his family must know what a kind and caring individual Gary was. He will be sorely missed forever. I am so so deeply sorry.

met gary in florida became good friend's seemed like we've known each other for a long time. he told me a story about a guy's wife that was parasailing and they had to cut her loose had me laughing for day's . rest in peace brother until we meet again. your friend bill.
