Sooo shocked and sad to hear of his passing.
He was a great guy. We had lots of fun!
We met when I was in HS and he was at NYU.
Sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age.

I was in Hong Kong when I read about Harry's passing. He will always be remembered as a dedicated ambulance corp member. I learned much from being on the same team. He will be missed by many who have served with him.

The last time I spoke with Harry was on February, '15, when he wished me and my family a happy new year-Year of the Boar'. Harry and my husband, Richard, were great partners in the Englewood Cliffs Ambulance Corp. After a call or meeting, they'd yak about cars, mechanics, etc. and now that they are together again, they can both catch up and continue where they left off. I often met his lady friend with whom Harry helped in raising her family. That was Harry...all heart! He will be missed at our attendance together at the town's annual Memorial Day service. Rose

I have known Harry the Architect/Construction Official for at least 28 years about 6 times a year at the Architect's League (Architects' League of Northern NJ) meetings. Actually, I had a deja vu moment when in '79 he greeted me in passing on the Ramapo College campus, we was escorting a friend. He was a second generation Architect. His father ran a busy NYC architectural office and we practice a family run architectural business, so we had a lot in common. We have been working on a project in his town and he was representing an opposing side. He did it pro bono but did not reveal his influence 'til recently. We are both professionals. I acquired his cell# ready to call him when I read 4 days later that he passed. I wish we spoke one more time. He told me how he helped raise his girl friends kids. I'st good to know others appreciated him. He certainly had a sharp wit. My husband's grandma was a Krause, so I told Harry we are probably related, ha,hah!

To the Kraus family,
I have known Harry my whole life. My mom and Harry dated for 7 years. I remember that I ran with Harry in a Fun Run in Ridgewood once. Harry loved me and my brother and treated us so well. Harry babysat me a few times when I was sick. He was a friend to my mom for so long. He will be missed immensely. I will light a candle in his memory tonight.

I met Harry about thirty years ago when we were both running at Overpeck Park in Leonia, NJ. He was a very fast runner and and even faster talker! He was also very bright and I enjoyed listening to his stories about his work. We became friendly and even went on a few dates. Life moved along and so did we. Many years later I moved into Haworth and needed to check the the town for some fencing I wanted to put up. There I met Harry again - still w razor sharp intelligence, consummate dedication to his work and witty as ever. He was a good man .
