Kenneth Hagedorn Obituary

HAGEDORN
Kenneth, age 66, of Mahwah, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Valley Hospital, Ridgewood. Ken was born in Paterson and spent most of his life in Midland Park before moving to Mahwah 1 year ago. Ken was a member of the Wyckoff Police Dept. for 35 years before retiring as Captain 6 years ago. He attended the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff. He is survived by his mother, Cornelia Hagedorn of Wyckoff, his sister Beverly and her husband Rod Den Hollander of Franklin Lakes and his brother, James Hagedorn of Afton, VA. Ken also leaves his niece and nephews, Katie Den Hollander, David Den Hollander and Stephen (Amanda), Richard (Erin) and Jeremy Hagedorn and his grand niece and nephew, Lily and Dean. He was predeceased by his father Edward Hagedorn, Jr. in 1984. Visiting will be held Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday at the Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donation in Ken's memory may be made to the Annual Fund of the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
