Memories and Condolences
for Rene Ledoux

Not sure what to say?

Coach Ledoux was my football and baseball coach, and my athletic director in 1967-1968.
My mother had just passed away and coach knew exactly how to mentor me. There are no words to express the energy coach put into me, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Coach Ledoux saved my life. I will forever be thankful to you.

To the family of Rene Ledoux , I am so sorry to just now realize that Rene had passed away several years ago. My thoughts and my prayers go out to the entire family! I always enjoyed working and learning from Rene at NFA while a student and remaining on the facilities staff full time when I graduated! I'm now living in Fort Mill, South Carolina which borders Charlotte NC. I can be emailed at [email protected] if any of the Ledoux family would like to reach out to me! Thank you kindly, Kevin D Brennan

Dear Ledoux Family:

I am sorry for your loss. What a great man. He was my junior varsity baseball coach at Bacon Academy in the early eighties. As a man of great virtue, Coach Ledoux taught me how a "real" man looked and acted. Even more important than being an outstanding baseball coach - which he decidedly was - he was an even better life coach for those of us casting about for positive male role models. Finally, he showed me how to live my faith without pretension. I'll never forget how - at a public school no less - we knelt before every game and recited the Lord's Prayer. He, and all of you, are in our prayers. RIP

To the Ledoux Family,
It is with great sadness that I write and pay my respects to a wonderful person, educator, coach and family man.
Rene epitomized the finest qualities that any individual might emulate. I was most fortunate that I had the privilege to work across the hall from him for over a decade. Additionally, he helped to support and encourage me when I launched the first NFA varsity women's softball program. His vision and complete knowledge of fair and competitive sports for all athletes of both genders raised the bar at NFA.
He was an outstanding classroom teacher and colleague.
But he was at his finest as a husband to his wonderful soulmate Lillian and raising a remarkable family who made the entire Norwich community very proud.
My sincere condolences to the entire Ledoux family and all his wonderful friends. He will be missed but never forgotten!!

I had no idea what I wanted to become or do with my life until I took Mr. Ledouxs' science class in my senior year. It was that class and his enthusiasm that opened my eyes to the wonder of the human body. It is because of him, I celebrate my 20th year as an oncology nurse. I can honestly say if it were not for him, I would not have chosen this path. Because of him, I have been able to reach out to a countless number of patients. Please know that his work lives on. I was lucky to have had him as he retired the year I graduated. My deepest sympathy to your family

Ledoux Family,

Rene was a straight shooting, compassionate, great guy. While I didn't attend N.F.A., I met Rene while working events at N.F.A. when I was a Norwich police Sergeant and officer. After I got to know him, I'd see him and Mrs. L. at the Elks, Plainfield, shopping, all over. He and your mom enjoyed a very active life. God bless his soul. He will be sadly missed.
