Carmino A. Maffio

Carmino A. Maffio June 12, 1930 - March 24, 2013 Plainfield - Carmino A. Maffio, 82, of Railroad Ave. beloved husband of Ann (Carpenter) Maffio passed away March 24, 2013 at Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag, RI. He was born June 12, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Giovanni and Anna (Tuscano) Maffio and had resided in Plainfield for over 50 years. Mr. Maffio was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the State of Connecticut at the Former Norwich State Hospital as a cook, owned and operated the former Colonial Package store in Plainfield and retired as an insurance agent with Carpenter & Marchesseault. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter and son in law Debra and Gary Breton of Danielson, two sons James Maffio and Roger "Rick" Simpson both of Chepacet, RI. A sister Lucy Maffio of Lisbon, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Ralph Maffio. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 12: 00 Noon at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield. Military honors will follow. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL. 32256.
