Diana M. Farland Jan 26, 1912 - Mar 3, 2014 Plainfield – Diana M. Farland, 102, of Second St. went home to her Lord and Savior on March 3, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born January 26, 1912 in St. Claude, P.Q. Canada a daughter of the late Napoleon and Olympe (Lemire) Richard. Mrs. Farland was the beloved wife of the late Albert Farland who passed away October 23, 1973. She was the oldest member of St. John the Apostle Church in Plainfield and spent her entire life in service to God and her family. She was a lifelong member of the Ladies Guild and had made many baptismal tunics for South American missions. Mrs. Farland made layettes for needy families in Haiti. She leaves 2 sons Leo Farland and his wife Lucille of Plainfield, Rev. Norman Farland M.F. of Wahneta, FL. 2 daughters and sons in law Cecile and Louis Bachmann of Plainfield, Theresa and David Collard of Plainfield. 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Wilfred, Roland and Conrad Richard, also 2 sisters Philomene Farland and Bernadette Plante. The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:15AM from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. John the Apostle Church. Her son Father Norman Farland M.F. will celebrate the mass. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-8PM.
