Edward W. Nill Apr. 20, 1920 - Feb. 21, 2014 CANTERBURY - Edward W. Nill, 93, formerly of Bingham Rd. beloved husband of the late Frances (Ekhardt) Nill passed away Friday afternoon at Regency Heights in Danielson. He was born April 20, 1920 in Astoria, L.I. NY a son of the late John Nill and Anna Svec Van Cura. Mr. Nill had lived in Norwich for 30 years moving to Canterbury in 1979. He had been employed as an advertising production manager for King-Sealy Thermos for 36 years, retiring in 1981. Mr. Nill was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was an artist, well known for wild life sculptured painting in dimension. Mr. Nill was an active member of the Canterbury Senior Citizens. He leaves a son and daughter in law Edward F. and Rene Nill of Vergennes, VT; four daughters Kathleen A. Niel and Lorraine C. O'Donnell both of Mystic, Helen D. Dunn and her husband Phil of Plainfield, Alice Marie Kennerson and her husband Charles of Central Village, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visiting hours are Monday, 4-7 P.M. at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield. Private burial with Military Honors in St. John Cemetery.
