Esther Kovolinco

Esther Kovolinco February 28, 1920 - May 8, 2013 Glasgo - Esther Mary Kovolinco, age 93 of Glasgo, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She was born February 28, 1920 in Bozrah to Albert Carroll Rogers and Maude Annabelle Rogers (Congdon). She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years John Kovolinco, her brother Alfred "Sonny" Rogers, her son John Kovolinco Jr., and two great-grandchildren, Sherry Lynn Baker and Matthew Scott Tillinger. Her paternal lineage has been traced to the first landing of the Mayflower. Esther led a long and busy life. She had a talent for arts and crafts that she enjoyed sharing with others. For many years she ran E.K. Ceramics studio and was a certified doll doctor. Her working life began during the depression when she made beds at the then famous Wauregan Hotel. She ran a small store from her home at the base of the Glasgo Dam until the death of her husband in 1973. As a widow, Esther attained her driver's license and began employment as a cook at Crestwood Manner retirement home where she remained for 27 years. After retirement she continued her work with arts and crafts. Esther leaves behind two daughters, Maryann Robbins of Canterbury and Patricia French of Griswold. Ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, and trusted friend and neighbor Tom Gileau of Glasgo, who provided her care and comfort in her last years. Esther will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold, CT on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM.
