Francis H. "Frank" Driscoll, Jr. Jan. 31, 1927 - Mar. 29, 2014 WATERFORD - Francis H. "Frank" Driscoll, Jr. of Waterford entered eternal life on March 29, 2014 in the comfort of his loving family. He was born Jan. 31, 1927 in New London the son of the late Francis and Yvonne (Horrigan) Driscoll, Sr. He attended local schools and graduated from the former Buckley High School class of 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines after his high school graduation. Frank was a WWII
Veteran who was honorably discharged. He was attending Providence College when he was called back to serve in the Korean War
. Frank and the former Mary Ellen Scully were united in marriage on June 13, 1953 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Mrs. Driscoll survives him. Mr. Driscoll was employed at Electric Boat as a planner for 36 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Seaside Council #17 and a member of the New London Sea Notes Barber Shop Chorus. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Quaker Hill. Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed following them in all of their endeavors.
Besides his beloved wife of 60 years, he is survived by four sons and their spouses. Michael and Cathy Driscoll of Westbrook; Robert and Susan Driscoll of Waterford; William and Jean Driscoll of Westford, MA; and James and Diane Driscoll of Uncasville; as well as a brother, Richard Driscoll of Jewett City. He leaves nine grandchildren to cherish his memory: Ryan and Shawna; Daniel, Shane and Mackenzie; Christopher and Andrew; Caitlyn and Allison. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Driscoll.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday morning from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 P.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Quaker Hill.
