John B. "Jack" Brown

John B. "Jack" Brown November 2, 1930 - September 12, 2013 NORWICH - John B. "Jack" Brown, 82, of Norwich, went peacefully back to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on September 12, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jack was born on November 2, 1930 in New Orleans, LA, the son of the late George and Abbieta (Hasler) Brown. He lived most of his life in Norwich, attending the Cathedral of St. Patrick School, NFA, and UCONN. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army having been stationed in France. He was also an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was one of the original crew of Bee Bee Dairy in Norwichtown, where he met his future wife, Rita. In 1969 Jack opened the Norwichtown McDonald's. He proudly represented the McDonald name for over forty years. In 1999 Jack married the love of his life, Rita M. Deschene. They spent many happy times with their daughter Cindy and her family in New Hampshire. His happiest times were spent with his granddaughter, Alana, who always made him smile. Jack was predeceased by his wife Rita. He is survived by his loving daughter Cynthia Cini and husband Gary, of Bartlett, NH; his sister, and best friend, Beverly Brown of Norwich and his sister Elizabeth Burns and husband James of West Hartford; granddaughter Alana, who was the light of his life; two sisters in law, Gladys M. Lee and Barbara Nowacki, both of Lisbon; many nieces and nephews; and his two cats, Ebony and Mitzie. Jack always left an impression on everyone he met. The twinkle in his eye has gone, but he will remain forever in our hearts. The funeral will assemble on Friday, Sept.ember 20, at 8:45 A.M.. at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Ave, Norwich, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations in his memory may be made to either, Hospice of S.E. CT, Sts. Peter & Paul Church, St. Joseph Living Center in Willimantic or the CT Humane Society in Quaker Hill.
