Joseph Polanski

Joseph Polanski Oct. 28, 1916 - May 12, 2014 BANGOR, ME. - Joseph Polanski, 97 formerly of Maple Street, Dayville, CT, died May 12, 2014 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor, Maine. He was the loving husband of Annette Polanski for 67 years. Born in Warren, MA, and raised in East Brooklyn, CT, he was the son of the late Stanislaus and Bridget Polanski. Joe, a World War II veteran, worked as a tool and die machinist for companies such as Kaman Aircraft, and Pratt and Whitney. Joe was a member of the Elks Club in Danielson for many years. Joe loved the outdoors; especially fishing and hunting, and he also enjoyed playing golf. Joe was very proud of his beautiful vegetable garden which gave family, friends, and neighbors a wide variety of tasty vegetables and fruits for over 40 years. Joe and Annette enjoyed music and dancing with their special circle of friends over many years. Joe is survived by his wife Annette, and his children Susan Manocchio and her husband Fred of Bangor ME, Stanley Polanski and his wife Mary of Franklin, NC, Anne-Marie Polanski of Portland, ME, Jane Creagan and her husband Tim of Silver Spring, MD, and 4 grandchildren; Raven Manocchio of Raleigh, NC, Lily Polanski, of Jackson, WY and Colin and William Creagan of Silver Spring, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Church in Putnam, CT on July 12, 2014 at 10:00 A.M.
