Joyce Marie Eber Jun. 11, 1944 - Jul. 25, 2014 BROOKLYN - Joyce Marie (Markowitz) Eber, 70, went to her God surrounded by her family on Friday, July 25, 2014 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester, MA. Joyce was born in Putnam on June 11, 1944, daughter of Ida (Tubman) Markowitz of Putnam and the late Peter Markowitz. She was the beloved wife of Joseph H. Eber; they would have been married 50 years on May 8, 2015. She was Vice-President of the Brooklyn Fair Association, active in the CT State Fair Association, secretary of the Killingly Town Council and a communicant of both Our Lady of LaSalette Church in Brooklyn and St. Joseph Church in Dayville, as well as managing a business and family with her husband, pursuing various hobbies including crafts, reading and gardening. Besides her husband and her mother she is survived by her sons, Joseph H. Eber III and wife Elizabeth of Killingly, Christopher Eber and wife Brenda of Pomfret, Anthony Eber of Wolcott and Richard Eber of Westerly, RI; her brothers, Michael Markowitz, Paul Markowitz and Max Markowitz; sister, Merrie Chartier; grandchildren, Cassandra Wheaton (Eber), Shannon Eber, Brittany Eber, Braeden Eber, Ian Weaver, Ethan Weaver and Ronald LaDuca and great granddaughter Alanna Sutherland. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Dayville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held in Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Danielson on Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.
