Mohammed A. Salahi May 1, 1921 - December 3, 2012 Norwich - Mohammed A. Salahi, 91, passed away Monday, December 3. He was surrounded by this loving family. Mr. Salahi was Born on May 1, 1921 in Jafa, Palestine working as a civil engineer. He survived the Irgun terrorist bombing of the King David Hotel that killed his twin brother, Ibrahim. Then Mr. Salahi, his late wife, Kowther Abdo Ghizawi, and family were forced to flee to Lebanon. During the 1980 war in Lebanon, he and his wife immigrated to the United States to join his children where they proudly became American citizens. Mr. Salahi has eight brothers and sister who lived all over the Middle East. His sole surviving sister, Alam, resides in Syria. He loved people, dreamed about peace, and about his beloved house in Palestine. He was an avid fisherman who loved the arts and was an accomplished crafter and master drawer. Mr. Salahi is survived by his three sons and daughter-in-laws; Nader Salahi, Abe and Gail Salahi; and Bassem and Iffat Salahi. His two daughters Kahdejeh Salahi and Fatina with her husband Adnan Khalifeh. He is also survived by many grandchildren Including Jamelah Stone; Zienah Salahi; Ramy and Rania Salahi; Bilal and Sarah Khalifeh; and Maha, Susan, Sonia, Fadia and Mona Bakri, along with many great-grand children, nieces and nephews. A private service and burial was held on Tuesday, December, 4, 2012. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 between the hours of 3PM until 7PM, located at 43 Allyn Ave, Norwich, CT.
