Patricia Mary Vincent Jensen June 27, 1952 - April 4, 2013 Florence, AL - Patricia Mary Vincent Jensen of Florence, Alabama passed away on April 4, 2013 at the age of 60 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Al after a brave struggle with a prolonged illness. Patricia "Tricia" Mary Vincent Jensen was born on June 27, 1952 in New London. Tricia attended St. Bernards High School, graduating in 1970. She graduated from St. Francis Nursing School in 1973 where she was the president of her class and would always proudly say that she knew all her classmates' names by the second day of school. After graduating from St. Francis and achieving one of her childhood dreams of becoming a nurse, she fulfilled her other childhood dream of living in southern California. She moved to Redondo Beach and worked as an ER nurse at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, California, where she met her husband, Dr. Peter Jensen. They married on April 9, 1976 and lived in Agoura, California for 19 years before moving to Dothan, AL in 1995, and then to Florence, AL in 2012. They attended St. Columba Catholic church in Dothan, AL for 16 years. Anybody that has ever met Tricia would tell you she had the world's biggest heart and always thought of others first, especially her children. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and a friend until the end. Tricia is predeceased by her mother Patricia Flaherty Vincent and her two sisters Diane Vincent Caulfield and Joan Vincent Woodworth. She is survived by her husband Dr. Peter Jensen, son Peter Jensen Jr., her daughter Megan Jensen, father Harold Vincent of Pawcatuck, her brothers Jim (Mary Ellen) of North Branford, CT, and Peter (Denice) of Norwich, along with 25 nieces and nephews. Patricia Jensen's wake will be held on Tuesday April 9, 2013 from 11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M. at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 2 Xavier Circle, Birmingham, AL followed by the funeral mass at 1:00 P.M. A second memorial service will be held in Connecticut sometime this summer, time and location to be announced.
