Roger H. Gendreau

Roger H. Gendreau May 3, 1936 - June 14, 2013 Plainfield - Roger H. Gendreau, 77, of Aldrich Ave. Moosup passed away early Friday morning at W.W. Backus Hospital, Norwich. He was born May 3, 1936 in Brooklyn a son of the late Herve' and Alida (Guimont) Gendreau and had resided in Moosup for over 50 years. Mr. Gendreau was a Korean War era veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed by Kaman Aerospace for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He had been a drummer in several local bands and was an amateur artist. Mr. and Mrs. Gendreau were avid travelers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. On June 27, 1959 he was united in marriage to Pauline (Filiatreault) Gendreau who survives him. Besides his wife he leaves three sons and daughters in law, Johnny and Gail Gendreau of Beacon Falls, Steven and Linda Gendreau of Hollis, NH., and Charles and Candace Gendreau of Brooklyn; a daughter and son in law Diane and James Flaherty of Wilmington, MA; a sister Muriel Walker of Danielson; 12 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Rene Gendreau. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:15 A.M. from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in All Hallows Church, Moosup. Burial with Military Honors in All Hallows Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 5-8 P.M.
