MARGARET "PEG" BEAUREGARD 1936 - 2018
PLAINFIELD -Margaret "Peg" Beauregard of Plainfield, CT, passed away on 08/06/18.
She was born on March 20, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA., the second of eight children. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph McDonald and Margaret McDonald D'Amico, brother Joey, and sisters, Patsy, Anna, Aggie, Rosie, and Denise.
She married Leo A. Beauregard of Plainfield, CT on April 19, 1958.
Peg attended school in Philadelphia, after which she worked as a switchboard operator for the Saturday Evening Post.
She also worked as a reporter for the Norwich Bulletin, then as a nursing home recreation director.
She joined the VFW Auxiliary under the eligibility of her husband, a Navy veteran, and was an active member until her passing. She served as Department President from 1984-85, she also served as Department Secretary, National Council Member, and National Color-bearer.
She loved to travel, including an Alaskan cruise, trips to Hawaii and countless VFW National Conventions with friends and family. She read every Agatha Christie novel ever written, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and never lost a game of Scattergories.
Peg is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Leo; two children, Ann Beauregard Panteleakos of Plainfield and Leo J. (Sherry) Beauregard of North Windham; five grandchildren, Nicole Panteleakos, Tyler Panteleakos, Abi Beauregard, Amelia Beauregard, and Benjamin Beauregard; her brother Michael McDonald, and countless nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The funeral will be held Friday (8-10-18) at 9:15AM from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. John the Apostle Church, Plainfield. Burial in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-8PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the VFW National Home for Children: 3573 S Waverly Rd, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827
