What a fabulous guy. I had a reapir station in Norwich and he would stop in from time to time. He was fun to talk to and had lots of stories. On this Memorial Day weekend, it is right to thank him and all the other for protecting this country. Great guy and we will all miss him. Our condolances to all his family and friends. I pray for the day that thinking of him will put a smaile on everyone's face. God Speed

To Rich,
My condolences to you and your family on your father's passing. Though I never met him, he sounds like the kind of person I would have enjoyed meeting. May all the wonderful memories you have of him help you through this sad time. Your parents are together again. May the heavens be lively with his music and all the angels sing & dance in celebration of his life.
Blessed be...

Richard and Gary:
I extend my deepest sympathies for the loss of your father.
As you know, Gary, you and I were schoolmates in junior and senior high school, so I knew your Dad in the 60's and 70's during our formative years.
I always enjoyed being in the company of your father, whether at your house, picnics, parties, trips (Rocky Point), the Club, or any other venue.
Your Dad made me feel welcome any time I was at your house. He made me laugh especially when he would interact with us. At other times he needed to discipline you boys and that was no laughing matter!
I also remember your Dad practicing his trumpet during the day where we neighbors could enjoy the music.
There were times when your Dad would give me wise counsel, sometimes in the presence of my own father.
I distinctly remember the love and care he showed your mother when we were around. Al demonstrated his ultimate love for his wife when he cared for her during her illness.
When my father was ill and did not have long to live, your dad was a true friend to him. My father respected and thought "very highly" of your dad.
When my mom was in the nursing home, your dad would visit her. In fact, your dad had his own ministry where he would visit the lonely and isolated people in various nursing homes. He would share his musical talents and wonderful personality with all people who were fortunate enough to know him.
I could say much more about the beautiful memories your father gave me as a young person growing up. He was truly an inspiration.
One last time I was given the grace to be with your father. Not too long ago I visited Al in the hospital. I talked to him. We shared a very tender moment and he smiled at me. He touched me deeply.
May your father's soul rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Jerry Monahan
