My deepest sympathy to Alma's family. She is still an inspiration to me and meeting her at L & M is a memory I treasure. For heaven's sake, she was still driving herself to the bank at age 91! On 395! I knew after a short time talking with her that she was a very intelligent, very independent woman, who talked lovingly about her family. i.e.: "Paul seems to show up to take me when I have plans to go somewhere". The irony was not lost on her. Alma had all of her "marbles" to the end. We should all be so fortunate. I wish we had met years ago.

Dear Bea, Prayers and sympathy are being sent to you and your family. Your Mom had a way of making everyone she met feel like they were her friend and special to her. What a gift that was. I remember how proud she was and how much she loved Brian and Jennifer. It was a privilege to have known her.

Beatrice, Paul and David:
I have wonderful memories of your mom and your entire family. I was raised on Haley Road leaving in 1961. We were next door neighbors during the 1950s and she was like a second mother to me, keeping an "eye" on us mischievous boys. Paul, you and I were the same age and as friends we did many activities together with your Mom who took us to various fun places. Because your Dad was in the Navy, I distinctly remember your Mom taking us to the Sub Base to swim. She also took us to the movie theatre on the Base.
Your Mom and Dad were always involved in the neighborhood and the community.
After all these years, how wonderful it is to have such poignant memories of a mother in the neighborhood who was involved and cared enough to be part of our early formative years.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.
