Dorothy Nagle Obituary

Dorothy K. Nagle November 23, 1931 - May 17, 2013 WATERFORD - Dorothy K. Nagle, (formerly of Jewett City, CT) died Friday at Bayview Healthcare Center in Waterford. She was born November 23, 1931 in Jewett City, daughter of Theodore and Louise Kenyon. She was married to William D. Nagle on May 10, 1952, who predeceased her on November 6, 2010. Over the years, Dorothy worked various jobs including telephone operator, Arremony's Bakery, and Comark Warehouse. However, her passion for young children led her to open her home as a day care center for many local children who affectionately called her "Dot-Dot". She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren for her famous blonde brownies, whoopie pies, blueberry buckle, and other favorite recipes. Her favorite past times were caring for family, planning family gatherings, cooking, and vacationing at Cape Cod. We can now easily picture her reunited with Dad gazing out at the ocean from their beach chairs, each with a book in their hands. Survivors include two sons James Nagle and his wife Judith of Griswold, and Daniel Nagle of Norwich; two daughters Patricia Elliott of Canterbury, and Margaret Barkhouse and her husband Charles of Voluntown; one brother David Kenyon and his wife Mary Anne of Glastonbury; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law Raymond Elliott. A calling hour will be held on Friday 10 to 11 A.M. at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd. Route 138 Jewett City with services at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Lisbon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Ste. 100 Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or Beacon Hospice 12 Roosevelt Ave. Mystic, CT 06355.
