Elsie Hill

Elsie Hill June 15, 1916 - July 4, 2013 Danielson - Elsie Hill of Danielson passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Regency Heights in Danielson. She was born in Canterbury, on June 15, 1916. She was the daughter of Abel and Aune (Piirainen) Larson. She was predeceased by husband Joe Lis in 1952 and later married Henry Hill, who died in 1980. She was the youngest of six sisters, all of whom have predeceased her. She was a life long resident of the Danielson/ Brooklyn area. She was an avid reader and was very knowledgeable about horticultural issues having grown vegetables commercially for a number of years with husband Henry Hill. She was a charter member of the FAHRS in Canterbury and passionate about her Finnish heritage. Elsie is survived by sister-in-law Aino Berris, several nieces and nephews including Christina Alliod of Canterbury, Nancy Martin of Rockledge, FL, Robert Robertson of Moosup, Richard Robertson of Old Lyme and William Martin of Levitown, NY. There are no calling hours, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Tillinghast Funeral Home, 25 Main Street, Central Village is in charge of arrangements.
