James Mulholland Obituary

James Francis Mulholland June 25, 1932 - March 9, 2013 Norwich- James F. (Red) Mulholland of Norwich passed away on Saturday March 9th at the Backus Hospital. He was born in Norwich on June 25, 1932 the son of the late Albert J. and Mary Ann (Grimshaw) Mulholland. He attended local schools. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Navy where he served as a Navy salvage diver. He was honorably discharged in 1955. After the Navy he was employed as a Steamfitter and Pipefitter for Finnegan and Lynch. He was last employed through the Plumbers Union. After retirement he enjoyed doing decorative wood crafts and gardening. Mr. Mulholland was a 60 year member of Local #777 Pipetrades Union. He also was a member of the American Legion Post #4 and the BPO Elks #1311. James is survived by three sisters, Frances E. Lachapelle of Groton, Dorothy J Mulholland and Rosalie Fabisian both of Norwich and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Harry J and Albert J. (Moe) Mulholland and one sister Mary I. (Mae) Ward. The family would like to thank Dr. Kapor and Dr. Kabadi and the nurses and staff of A2 of Backus Hospital for the wonderful care and understanding they gave him and the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville meeting directly at the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Norwich with military honors. Calling hours at the Guillot Funeral Home 75 South B. St. Taftville will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

To the family of Red my condolences on his sudden death. I've known Red for some years,working with him or being on the job with him. We've met many times at a Baltic restraunt and talked about old times as retires do. My prayers are with him.
