Janet Badger Obituary

Janet Rosalie Badger October 2, 1919 - December 21, 2013 Plainfield - Janet Rosalie Badger, 94, former resident of Jewett City, passed away peacefully Saturday morning at the Villa Maria Nursing Care Facility in Plainfield. She was born October 2, 1919 in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada daughter to the late Charles and Florence (Lemay) Peloquin, raised in Berlin NH and lived as a young adult in Lewiston ME. On Jan 4, 1945, she was married to Milford Stanley Badger. He predeceased her on March 12, 1998. Her last employment was at the Norwich State Hospital as a geriatric aid. Her family was her life. Her enjoyment was the hours spent together and playing cards. Janet was predeceased by her son Russell M. Badger and grandchildren Dawn and Todd Badger. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ford and husband Tom, daughter Janice Badger, and a very special Daughter-in-law Donna Lupinacci. Her beloved grandchildren Kirk Fontaine and wife Chrissy; Keith Fontaine and wife Hania; Brent Fontaine and wife Cathie; Sarah Kerr and husband Micah; and Rebecca Badger. She is also survived by six very special great- grandchildren Tyler Barry, Megan Barry, Ashton Fontaine, Kyle Fontaine, Forrest Belucci and Jakub Fontaine. She leaves extended family in Connecticut and Maine. Her nephew Bill Gardner shared many hours challenging her playing cribbage. Bill, she claims you still owe her a dollar! Her pen pal Laurie Gardner gave her many hours of enjoyment from her letters describing family life in Maine. Many others who visited and communicated were continued sources of love and joy. Janet had eleven siblings: Henri' Peloquin; Oliver Peloquin; Fernande Tremblay; Anita Martel; Albina LaPointe; Julient Ouellette; Loretta D'Alphonse; Theresa Cheche; Leo Demers; Lorraine Demers and Gertrude Bernier. Janet and her family want to express their appreciation for the heartfelt care provided by the staff of the Villa Maria Nursing Facility. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 A.M., at The Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Road Jewett City, CT. A memorial service will be held at noon with interment to follow at the Pachaug Cemetery in Griswold. For online condolences go to www.gagnepiechowski.com.

My deepest sympathy to all.Jan was a wonderful, caring,compassionate , loving and a hard working woman.I worked with Jan in the Seymour Bdlg. of Norwich Hospital.To this day I make the apple dumplings with Custard Sauce.. A recipe she shared with me in the 70's.She will be greatly missed. Prayers for all.
