Jean Louis Lariviere

Jean Louis Lariviere Died - April 20, 2013 Norwich - Jean Louis Lariviere, age 82, of Norwich passed away at his home on April 20, 2013. He was born in Dover, NH in 1930, eldest son of Robert A. Lariviere and Irene M. (Morin) Lariviere. Jean received an honorable discharge from the 1082nd Regiment at Stewart AFB, Newburg NY in 1952. He married his loving wife Rita (Snack) Lariviere on January 25, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church in Mahwah, NJ. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University, Madison, NJ, 1968 Cum Laude, majoring in Business Administration. He worked in the manufacturing of Aero-Space and nuclear parts industry as a Quality Assurance Engineer for 45 years retiring from Proto-Power Corporation of Groton in 1993. His civic activities included six years on the Planning and Zoning Board of Montville, elected to the Zoning Board of Appeals for two terms. He served as the original treasurer for the Southeast Region Resourced Recovery Authority and as Montville's representative for 15 years. Most recently he has dedicated his spare time to St. John the Evangelist Church Parish. In addition to teaching Basic Computer courses to Montville's Senior Citizens, he served as a member of the membership committee and an AARP Tax Preparation Assistant in New London County until 2004. Besides his loving wife Rita, he is survived by a son Robert Larivieve of Taftville, a daughter Renee Johnston of Norwich, a daughter Christine Adler and her husband David of Lewiston, ME, a daughter Sister Mary Paul Lariviere, order of St. Clare, Sauk Rapids, MN, grandchildren Heather, Jeremy, Platoon Sergeant Matthew, Cynthia, Barbara, Katelin and Jacob and great grandchildren Annabelle, Jenna, William, Simonne, Alexandria, Sarah, Robert and Julianna. His also leaves behind a brother Lawrence Lariviere and his wife Pam of Portsmouth, NH, a brother George Lariviere and his wife Charlene of Brighton, ME., a sister Wilda Southard and her husband Jim of Fitchburg, MA. as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Raymond Lariviere and his wife Lois of Lamar, CO. Family and friends may visit the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, Route 32, Montville, CT on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11:00 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Maple Ave., Uncasville. Interment will immediately follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Uncasville.
