Dear Mrs. Costa and Paul. I was so sad to hear of Dr. Costa's passing. I worked with him at Dr. Barrett's office in Jewett City....he was a true gentleman, I respected him very much. Paul, I also had the pleasure of working closely with your lovely wife Yvonne at Preston Plains School, as the school secretary and was quite sad when I read of her passing so young.
I have fond memories of both of them:)
Sincerely, Terri Homiski

A wonderful doctor and asset to the community. I enjoyed hearing stories about a trip to Italy. He was relating salt intake to blood pressure issues and he mentioned a salt free bread he had tried there. Not particularly good tasting as I recall. He will certainly be missed.

Pat Costa was already well established and respected on the Backus medical staff when I came to join it in 1977, but he quickly found and befriended me, as I am sure he did to many other new docs in town. From what I witnessed in the hospital of his professional skill, and what I learned of his compassionate nature through our mutual patients, it quickly became clear that there was no finer role model to try to emulate.
It was a loss for our community when he inevitably retired, and a sad day to hear of his passing, but how appropriate that it should be on a day that celebrates love.
