Charles Q. Kent April 4, 1957 - October 3, 2012 Oakdale - We sadly announce the passing of Charles Q. Kent, 55, of Oakdale on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Charlie was born on April 4, 1957 to Oliver and Therese (Quinn) Kent in Norwich. He attended Montville High School. He was predeceased by his brother Robert. Charlie was employed at the Submarine Base in Groton. He also enjoyed owning and operating excavation equipment. Charlie enjoyed life to the fullest, his way. He had a love of the open road and was a spirited member of the Independent Riders Association Motorcycle Club, holding the title of Road Captain. He was most proud of his 1947 Indian Chief and 1969 LT-1 Corvette, which he drove conservatively through the surrounding towns of southeastern CT. He is survived by his parents of Montville, his loving sister Maggie and her husband Don of Block Island, many friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southeastern CT 227 Dunham St. Norwich, CT 06360 or the Christopher and Dana Reeve Spinal Injury Foundation 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ, 07078. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 10 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Uncasville, CT. Interment will follow Mass at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich. Calling hours will be on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home, Norwich, CT.
